Sierra Madre GmbH is further expanding its expertise in the rum category and has secured the international distribution rights for the first proprietary rum of the world-famous heavy metal band Iron Maiden: The Rum of the Ancient Mariner. Inspired by the epic tale “Rime of the Ancient Mariner,” a milestone of heavy-metal storytelling from the 1984 album “Powerslave,” this rum pays tribute to timeless artistry and uncompromising craftsmanship.
Premium rum with a musical soul
This premium Caribbean dark rum is a composition of Jamaican and Barbados rums, matured in wooden casks using the traditional Petites Eaux method. The result is a smooth, multi-layered character at 40% ABV, constructed like a musical masterpiece. It is therefore perfect for enjoying neat—either right after a meal or sipped slowly throughout the evening—and ideal for anyone who appreciates depth and nuance. “Iron Maiden are an institution and living legends. Flavor depth meets visual artistry
The rum impresses with its intense appearance, multi-layered aroma, and an unmistakable tasting experience. Its deep dark brown color with warm, reddish undertones is captivating at first glance. On the nose, a rich bouquet unfolds with notes of muscovado sugar, bittersweet chocolate, vanilla, and soft oak, complemented by subtle hints of arrack and marzipan. On the palate, the rum is elegant and complex: vanilla fudge, dried figs, dark chocolate, and a fine oak spice define the profile. The long-lasting, warm finish is accompanied by nuances of dried fruit and a delicate sweetness, creating a harmonious finale to an exceptional tasting experience.
The label was designed by Dan Mumford, a long-time collaborator of the band, and offers a visual journey full of intricate details that reveal more with every glance. These reflect both the band’s lyrics and Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s famous 1798 poem of the same name.
